Sofia. The Council of Ministers will allocate BGN 2.7 million to Pernik Municipality for a project for reconstructing the sediments traps of the water treatment plant, which supplies Pernik and the surrounding villages with drinking water, said the government press office. This was decided at a meeting of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov with Pernik Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov, which was also attended by Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Deputy Minister for Regional Development and Public Works Nikolay Nankov.

The funds, which will be provided by a decree of the Council of Ministers, are the first urgent measure aiming to solve the water crisis in the city. The financial support will enable the mayor of Pernik to take urgently the necessary actions. In the course of the conversation, further steps were outlined to deal with the crisis.
