Since the beginning of the year, a total of 78 people have been detained at football games in Sofia. Administrative measures were imposed on 48 of them, 31 were banned from attending sports events for a period of 2 years and fined BGN 1,000, nine were banned for 1 year and fined 1,000 BGN, one person received a 2-year ban and a sanction of 60 hours of community service, and another one was banned from attending sports events for a period of 3 months. Six of the detainees were acquitted by the court, says the press release.

Sofia. Four people have been detained for hooliganism after the Bulgaria-England match, said the press office of the Ministry of the Interior. An operation of the Ministry of the Interior is underway to identify and take measures against the people who got engaged in racist chanting during a football game between the national teams of Bulgaria and England. So far, the police have detained four people, whose involvement in the incident is being established. Today, the law enforcers will continue their investigation into the incident to identify more participants. The collected evidence will be reported to the prosecutor's office.Open in new tab
