A tricky rescue operation has taken place in Pirin mountain, Director of the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) Emil Neshev told Focus News Agency
. The call about a seriously injured tourist was received at 05:25 pm. The woman was believed to be from Bansko and about 40 years old. A request was made for emergency evacuation by helicopter as the injuries were very serious. The first group of six mountain rescuers headed for the place to reach the injured woman in time. Meanwhile, a helicopter was ready to fly but due to the late hour, the operation continued on ground. A team of 24 mountain rescuers from Bansko, Razlog and Dobrinishte joined in. The operation ended at 2:30 am, when the woman was rescued. It is not known why she was alone. "The injured woman was taken to the hospital in Razlog. She had numerous traumas, the most serious one being the craniocerebral, many injuries in her upper and lower limbs, many grazes and wounds," Emil Neshev added.
