Prime Minister Boyko Borissov: I expect Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia to maintain good neighbourly relations26 June 2019 | 16:44 | FOCUS News Agency
"Historically, we have fought with all our neighbours, in result the Balkan region is lagging behind. Now we have turned things around. I hope we will overcome all difficulties,” Borissov said.
He said he expects that Bulgaria and Northern Macedonia will maintain good neighbourly relations. "We have a rare chance – this land called the Balkans, soaked in blood like no other place – we all can create a wonderful business climate here," he said.
Speaking to the business community, Borissov highlighted the stable economic environment in Bulgaria, noting that Bulgaria is attractive to foreign investors with its low taxes and good financial performance.
The government continues to build and repair country's road infrastructure, as new investors are interested in how long it would take their trucks to get from one border to the other, Borissov said, adding that Kalotina border crossing will be expanded to improve traffic flow.
Bulgaria aims to follow a predictable tax policy, reduce grey economy, improve the qualification of its labour force through sustainable investments in education, the prime minister pointed out.
