The Regional Ethnographic Museum will present both folklore and modern musical instruments, popular after the Liberation, such as violin, viola, zither and mandolin. With Rediscover Heritage, the Ethnographic Museum will also exhibit photos of the city, its colourful streets, yards and deserted villages.
Plovdiv Artists could be seen in the gallery of the Municipal Council from 5.30 pm. The exhibition presents 30 works by members of the Plovdiv Artists’ Society, paintings, graphics, sculpture, photography, collage inspired by the city, its sights and history.
At 5.30 pm, Prof. Dr. Georgi Trifonov, lecturer at the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv, will present paintings, drawings and sculpture in the Balabanov House. The main theme in his works is clothing through centuries and the identity of Bulgarian woman. Also in the Balabanov House, the Jubilees chamber concert starts at 6.00, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of Pancho Vladigerov and the 110th anniversary of Marin Goleminov’s birth.
The culmination of the opening weekend will be tomorrow, January 12, when the audience will watch We Are All Colours, a unique show featuring more than 1,500 performers.
