State media in Russia linked Mr Trump’s unexpected decision to cancel a meeting with the Russian leader in Buenos Aires at the G20 summit with new allegations about his ties to the Kremlin during the 2016 US presidential election.
Michael Cohen, a former personal lawyer to Mr Trump, admitted this week that he had spoken to Dmitry Peskov, Mr Putin’s spokesman, about a proposal to build a Trump Tower skyscraper in Moscow.
