Romania and Croatia have officially declared that they will keep the Bulgarian EU presidency’s priority on the Western Balkans, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva told the Parliament in response to a question on EU enlargement policy, Focus News Agency
reports. “A number of initiatives related to the European perspective of the Western Balkans are taking place during the Austrian presidency,” she added. The minister stressed that the Western Balkans as well as external border security, stable economic environment and security in Europe were long-term priorities beyond the six-month presidency.
