An organised crime group involved in illegal drug trade was busted today in a special operation under the supervision of the Special Prosecutor’s Office. It was conducted in Pleven and Lovech by officers of the General Directorate for Combating Organised Crime, their colleagues from the Pleven, Lovech, Vratsa and Montana Special Operations unit, and police officers from the regional departments in Pleven and Lovech, the press office of the Ministry of the Interior
said. In the village of Izvorche three men aged 23, 39 and 46, and a 30-year-old woman were detained, as well as the drivers, aged 40 and 50, of Citroen Berlingo and Mitsubishi. The law enforcement authorities searched five addresses and five vehicles and seized marijuana, ecstasy, methamphetamine and amphetamine, as well as electronic scales, BGN 2800, numerous documents, mobile phones, portable computer and SIM cards. The six detainees have been charged with crimes under art. 321, para 3 in conjunction with para 2 of the Penal Code. Their detention has been extended to 72 hours by a prosecutor’s order.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated and the paperwork continues under the supervision of the Special Prosecutor's Office.
