Bulgaria and Macedonia jointly celebrated the Day of Slavonic Script and honoured the legacy of St. Cyril at his tomb in the Basilica di San Clemente in Rome, the Focus Agency’s
special correspondent to Rome reported. The Bulgarian delegation is headed by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, and a delegation from the Republic of Macedonia is headed by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev. Separate religious services were held at St. Cyril's tomb by Bulgarian and Macedonian priests. The delegations will then visit the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. In this church, centuries ago, the then Pope Adrian II blessed the Slavonic alphabet and books.
