The process of accession to the EU always fails if it is politicised, Macedonian Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Dimitrov said at the conference In Dialogue with the Western Balkans: Creating a Region of Growth, Security and Connectivity on the Path to Europe held in Sofia, Focus News Agency
reports. “Each country should be considered individually. If they are considered in groups, the issue is politicised,” Nikola Dimitrov said. “We have left history to the historians. It is high time for our region to think about the future,” he noted. “There are two visions in Europe – European integration or ethnic borders and problems. We have seen what happens if we focus on ethnic problems, in the 1990s. The only way is European integration,” the Macedonian minister added.
