President Rumen Radev about visit to Russia: In times of confrontation, we must keep dialogue and reduce tension16 April 2018 | 14:25 | FOCUS News Agency
President Radev commented that the latest air strikes in Syria proved that the UN was more and more often ignored, which was increasing the risk to the world instead of reducing it. “The success of a military operation is judged in terms of its effects. For this operation specifically, the military effect is negligible, the political effect is mostly domestic, and the economic is the loss of over a billion dollars,” he said.
During the lecture, President Radev said that the reason for Bulgaria being the poorest country in the EU, with millions living in poverty, was political, namely the ineffective institutional environment. He called for transparency in the state and public spending and clear rules for everyone.
