Appellate Court released on BGN 5,000 bail Tsveta Taskova accused of Trakia motorway crash

Sofia. 29-year-old Tsveta Taskova, who was accused of causing the fatal crash on the Trakia motorway on 13 April, has been released on a BGN 5,000 bail, the Bulgarian National Radio reported. The decision of the Sofia Appellate Court is final.

St. Anna University Hospital: Patients from road accident near Vakarel stabilised and breathing on their own

Sofia. There is a positive change in the condition of the victims of last week's deadly road accident who were admitted to St. Anna University Hospital, said the hospital’s press office. Patients are stabilised and conscious, and are all breathing on their own. There is no direct danger to their lives, but complications are still possible. Two of the patients were transferred from the intensive care unit to the hospital’s Clinic of Orthopedics and Traumatology for additional treatment. Any forthcoming operations that might be necessary have been postponed until tomorrow.
On Friday, 13 April, a collision by a car and bus near Vakarel killed six people, while another 22 were injured and taken to different hospitals in Sofia.

Bus hit by car in serious crash on Trakia motorway

Sofia. The bus that overturned next to the motorway near Vakarel was hit laterally by a car before leaving the roadway, Chief Commissioner Mladen Marinov, Secretary General of the Interior Ministry, told reporters. This information is to be confirmed by the expert reports during the investigation.
Six people died in the crash, while 22 injured are in different hospitals in Sofia, Marinov said. The investigators are collecting evidence on the site and questioning the drivers. The victims are being identified. The accident was reported at 11.18 am.
Half of the injured are in a very serious condition, in the hospitals St. Anna, Pirogov, Military Medical Academy, Tsaritsa Yoanna-ISUL, Tokuda, Sofiamed, according to emergency care data. A 13-year-old boy was among the four injured taken to Pirogov after the crash. He was examined and operated to recover the access of oxygen to his body. St. Anna Hospital received 10 patients in its emergency ward, some in a serious condition, with several injuries. The bus driver is in a stable condition in Sofiamed with chest injury.
The bus was travelling from Burgas to Sofia when the accident occurred.
