Sofia. The Parliament will debate on the ratification of the friendship treaty between Bulgaria and Macedonia on January 18, according to the weekly programme voted by the MPs this morning, FOCUS News Agency reported. At its 30th session, the Macedonian Parliament has already ratified the treaty, with 61 votes in favour and one abstention. The document was signed on August 1, 2017 by Prime Ministers Zoran Zaev and Boyko Borisov with the stated goal to strengthen bilateral friendly relations, encourage good-neighbourliness and develop comprehensive relations in accordance with international law.Open in new tab

Sofia. The ratification of the friendship treaty with Bulgaria by the Macedonian Parliament is very good news from today, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said in a statement, quoted by FOCUS News Agency. “I am glad that the procedure was completed in Macedonia. The committees in Bulgaria will meet this week. With the signing of this treaty, we showed that in the Balkans we too can alone, when we are well meaning, when we look in one direction and it is the future, achieve for a short time solutions to problems amassed for years,” Zaharieva said.
