Jihadists are equally dangerous both in their threats and their planned actions, Gen. Kircho Kirov, former chief of the National Intelligence Service, told FOCUS Radio
in connection with the call of Islamic State to Albanian militants to commit terrorist attacks during the holidays. Gen. Kirov recalled the neutralisation of terrorist cells in Albania years ago and subsequent reports about similar cells in Kosovo. He pointed out that Albania and Kosovo have large diaspora in European countries that were hit by terrorist acts in the past, some during Christmas holidays, including Germany. The security services on the Balkans keep an eye on Albanian problems, he commented, adding that a large part of the active militants from the Middle East come from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia.
