Sofia. The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) demanded that Interior Minister Valentin Radev and Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov immediately resign after yesterday’s screening of the documentary of BSP MP Elena Yoncheva about the Bulgarian-Turkish border. The issue concerns not only national security but also corruption, party leader Korneliya Ninova told a press conference in a reference to the documentary, which shows disturbing facts about the effectiveness of the border fence, FOCUS News Agency reports. BGN 200 million of public funds were poured there, Ninova said. She cited testimonies in the documentary about organised trafficking.
Commenting on the intention of ruling party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB/GERB) to propose constitutional changes regarding crimes in past privatisation deals, Ninova said it was a half-way solution and urged for banishing bandits from the state’s political leadership.
