The anticorruption bill of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) was approved at first reading by the Parliament’s committee on the fight against corruption, conflict of interests and parliamentary ethics, BSP’s press office
said. The bill was presented by BSP’s deputy chairman, Krum Zarkov, who highlighted on the proposed creation of a new, single anticorruption body. During the discussion, it was pointed out that the work of the existing bodies, which the government’s bill proposes to unite, would not be improved if they are brought under one management and their field of action is impaired. The appointment of the head of the anticorruption body by the President would guarantee equal distance from all state structures exposed to corruption.
