A proposal for the hearing to take place today was rejected by 22 of the 25 SJC members.
A proposal for the election procedure to resume from the hearing of both Georgi Cholakov and Sonya Yankulova was rejected by 18 members.
A proposal to start a completely new procedure was rejected by 22 members.
FOCUS Agency reminds: On September 11, the SJC elected Georgi Cholakov for President of the Supreme Administrative Court. His nomination was backed by 20 members, while the other candidate, Sonya Yankulova, received the support of only 5 members. The decision was sent to President Rumen Radev for a decree for the appointment of Georgi Cholakov. On October 3, the renewed SJC officially took office. On October 4, the President said he returned Cholakov’s candidacy to the new SJC and expected a proposal in line with all legal procedures and the moral expectations of the society.
