Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva: European countries are ready to impose stronger sanctions against North Korea13 September 2017 | 11:29 | FOCUS News Agency
"The stricter sanctions aim at achieving 'peaceful pressure' on North Korea. This is the only way. We cannot change the regime there. That would mean a military solution to the issue," the minister said.
"Bulgaria is one of the seven EU countries with a very limited representation in North Korea, with no ambassador. Each of the countries with a permanent mission there should engage in dialogue, for example, through humanitarian aid for the population, to show that we have no hidden agenda. Rather, that the entire international community is united in its commitment to see a Korean Peninsula without nuclear weapons. We need to work with Japan, South Korea, Russia and China,” Ekaterina Zaharieva said.
