Zhivka Grozdeva, Association of Fruit Growers in Bulgaria: Low temperatures will reduce fruit harvest in many places across the country21 April 2017 | 16:42 | FOCUS News Agency
Sometimes hail damages are so great that it could take years for a plant to recover. There is virtually no insurance against frost as the insurance period starts around end of April when the risk of frost or very low temperatures at night is much lower. The fruits currently produced in the largest quantities are apples, peaches, apricots, plums and cherries, but with some fruits such as pear, the production has diminished, Grozdeva commented.
